New Speculative Fiction Releases for 10/29/2013

Mulluane | Monday, October 28, 2013 | 3 Comments so far
Once again here are thirteen new releases which caught my eye:

Click on the book cover or blurb and link will take you to Publisher's book page for more info. Click on Show/Hide Blurb to, well, see the blurb. Click, swipe or tap anywhere to the right of the book cover or blurb to advance slide.

*Note* The term "New Release" can be misleading. While it frequently refers to a "new to the world" release, this is not always the case. Hardcovers are normally true "New Releases" but again, not always. Some books are never released in hardcover but skip straight to mass market. It can also refer to new format such as eBook, Mass Market, Trade or even a re-release of a book that was out of print. With this in mind, I included the actual editions being released in the link list below.

I think that after playing with this for awhile I may have hit on the best format yet. Only thing I can't seem to make it do is loop from last slide back to first. Can't have everything perfect I guess...

My ultimate goal was to make an uncluttered post showing a bunch of new releases all without endlessly scrolling down a page, and while quickly giving you enough info on each book to pique your interest (or tell you it is not one you want to read.)

Process one, find a lovely book cover that catches your eye
Process two, click below the interesting book cover to read a portion of the blurb.
Process three. Blurb is interesting too, so click book cover and go to Publisher's page for even more info.
Process four. Come back here and use the affiliate links listed below to buy the book.

OK, so process four is optional and Amazon is also another great resource for checking out book details, but a girl can hope right? I included GR buttons also so you can check there for any early reviews.

  2. I am having fun with new releases and my quotes. I've had this program on every computer I've owned and never played with it before now.

    Look for more coming up. There are ALOT of books coming out in November and I'm afraid to look at December. So many I'll have to do these slide shows in batches I think.

  3. I think November and December as always release-heavy. Everyone wants their new release to get the extra boost the holiday season gives. {Smile}

    Batches sound fun. I will be looking forward to those. {Smile}
