Halloween Poem by Nicholas Gordon | Weekly Quote #23

Witches wail and werewolves howl,

Ghosts say "Boo!" and monsters scowl,

Jack-o-lanterns grin all night

As children shiver with delight.

Halloween Poem by Nicholas Gordon on a background design by Mulluane

About: This is a weekly feature here in the old belfry. This week, again in honor of Halloween, I chose a free to use poem by Nicholas Gordon. As always, the design, along with any flaws, is mine.

If you would like to suggest a quote or short poem (I prefer it be from a SFF author) let me know in the comments and I'll see what I can do. No promises though. If a quote is too big I may not be able to reproduce it in the space available. I do promise to try though!

Usage: Non-Commercial Fair Use is permitted. The following restrictions apply: Please do not remove or mask the watermark url or poet's attribution. Do not sell, print or claim this work as your own and when sharing, pinning, reblogging or posting, a direct link to this post is appreciated. If you use the poem itself it must be credited to Nicholas Gordon. Thanks!

  1. Delightful, just delightful... And I *LOVE* the background image, especially the hanging spider! :-)

    1. LOL! Funny thing is, I'm deathly afraid of spiders and yet... it belonged there somehow...

I LOVE comments. Thanks for leaving your thoughts!
